Theological College

The Theological College, the University Seminary at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, has been preparing men for the priesthood since the late nineteenth century. During its history, Theological College has formed more than 1,500 priests, including 45 bishops and five cardinals. Theological College is not a college seminary, but a theologate, i.e., graduate seminary. It is a “college” in the more traditional sense in that it is a gathering of like-minded individuals who share a common goal that is aimed toward service in the Church as priests.

With its focus on formation at every level, the formation faculty of Theological College encourages seminarians throughout the formation process to integrate what they are learning and experiencing in the academic, pastoral, and personal dimensions of their lives.
