John Falcone was born in Glens Falls, New York, in the Diocese of Albany, on September 16, 1927. His schooling began in 1932 at St. Mary’s School in Glens Falls. In 1945 he entered St. Thomas Seminary in Hartford, Connecticut. From there, in 1947, he came to St. Mary’s Seminary, Paca Street. He received his B.A. in 1949. He advanced to St. Mary’s Seminary, Roland Park, for his Theology in that year. He won his S.T.B. in 1951 and his S.T.L. in 1953. He was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Albany on May 30, 1953.

Father Falcone’s first assignment was to St. Thomas Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, where he taught Latin, English, Public Speaking, and Gregorian Chant. He also served as Athletic Director and Choir Director. In 1955 he began his Solitude at Roland Park but he had to withdraw because of his father’s illness. He came to St. Charles College in Catonsville, Maryland, for the second semester of the 1955-1956 school year. He reentered Solitude in 1956 and completed it in 1957. In October of that year he joined the faculty of St. Mary’s Seminary, Roland Park, to teach Moral Theology. In 1961 Father Falcone earned his S.T.D. at St. Mary’s Seminary. In 1963 he was appointed to St. Thomas Seminary in Seattle, Washington. He left there in 1967 to return to the Diocese of Albany to become associate pastor of St. Peter’s parish in Saratoga Springs. From 1969 to 1973 he was pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Sidney. For reasons of health, he resigned in 1973 and returned to St. Mary’s Church, his native parish, in Glens Falls. He died unexpectedly on December 27, 1980.
