Cullinan, Father Richard

Richard Cullinan was born on August 23, 1913 in Huntington, Pennsylvania, in the Diocese of Altoona. From 1920 to 1929 he attended public schools in Huntington. He came to St. Charles College in Catonsville, Maryland, in 1929 and graduated in 1934. He studied Philosophy at St. Mary’s Seminary, Paca Street, and achieved his B.A. in 1936. For his Theology he went to St. Mary’s Seminary, Roland Park. He attained his S.T.B. in 1938. He was ordained to the priesthood on May 2, 1940. After ordination, Father Cullinan went to The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., from which he received an M.S. in Biology in 1942. The year, 1942-1943, was spent in the Solitude at the Paca Street seminary. After Solitude, Father Cullinan was assigned to St. Joseph’s College in Mountain View, California. He taught various sciences and acted as Infirmarian.
