Power, Father John

John Power, of Waterford, Ireland, was studying at the Irish College in Paris when he sought admission to the Society of St. Sulpice. He was a Doctor of Canon Law. In 1901 he entered the Solitude at Issy. When he finished Solitude in June 1902, he was assigned to St. Charles College, at that time located near Ellicott City, Maryland. After a few months he was transferred to St. Patrick’s Seminary in San Francisco, California. Father Power left St. Patrick’s in 1905 to become a parish priest in the Diocese of Nesqually (later Seattle) in the State of Washington. He died on September 9, 1961.
