Holland, Father Timothy

Timothy Holland, an alumnus of St. Joseph’s Seminary, Dunwoodie, New York, was ordained on December 23, 1899, for the Diocese of Ogdensburg as a candidate for St. Sulpice. He was a resident at St. Austin’s College, Sulpician scholasticate at Catholic University in its first year of operation, under Fathers Driscoll and Gigot. Following higher studies there, he made his Solitude in Issy. On his return to the United States he was appointed to the faculty of the Dunwoodie seminary in 1904. In 1906, he withdrew from the Sulpicians when St. Joseph’s ceased to be a Sulpician seminary. In 1908, he went back to Ogdensburg, became a pastor there, and eventually was made a monsignor. He died as pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Massena, New York, on June 24, 1948.
