St. Kizito House in Lusaka, Zambia

Founded in 2016 and named after a Ugandan martyr, St. Kizito House is a small house of priestly formation in Lusaka that is owned by the Diocese of Gaborone in Botswana. Most of the seminarians come from that diocese, but a few come from South Africa as well. They attend St. Bonaventure University, where they pursue a bachelor’s degree in philosophy. After completing that degree, the seminarians from Botswana enter St. Dominic’s Major Seminary in Lusaka for theological studies.

In 2019 Archbishop Frank Nubuasah, SVD, of Gaborone, entrusted the operation of St. Kizito House to the Sulpicians. The first Sulpician rector was Father Cornelius Hankomoone, PSS, STD, former regional superior in Zambia. The current rector is Father Eugene Mwanamwambwa, PSS, MTh, who also serves as adjunct professor of church history at St. Dominic’s Major Seminary in Lusaka. Another Sulpician priest assists the rector and takes courses at St. Bonaventure University.
