Millet, Father Albert

Albert Millet was a French Sulpician who was assigned to St. John’s Seminary in Boston, where he taught Scripture and Plain Chant. He came to St. John’s in 1899 and was unable to fit in. Perhaps it was depression which led him, early in 1904, to leave the seminary and to leave St. Sulpice. It was only later determined that he had been suffering from some mental aberration. When that fact became known, the Society provided for his return to France, to his native diocese, Bourges. He seems to have recovered sufficiently to exercise his priesthood. He died on June 6, 1933.
